Build Your Own Tumbler Composter Workshop
After a long COVID-related hiatus, the Build-Your-Own
Composter Workshops will be returning in 2022! Keep an eye on this webpage and
your email for announcements about upcoming dates and locations. Place yourself on the waitlist.
Participants will start this workshop with a pile of recycled lumber, a recycled barrel, and assorted screws and bolts, but you will leave with a fully functioning tumbler style composter! We will take you through the construction steps and also give you some primers on proper composting technique. The finished composter will hold many gallons of organic material. All lumber will be pre-cut and all tools and materials will be provided. The cost of the workshop is $100 and registration is limited to 12 people, although you may bring helpers to assist with the construction.
If you have purchased one of our composters in the past, these barrels are SMALLER than the ones we previously had, approximately 35 gallons in size. This allows for easier turning of the barrel when filled with compost material.
