The 2022 seedling sale features two packages of shrubs and trees that were specially selected because of their value to native bees, but they also serve as valuable food sources for other wildlife! They help clean our water and air, prevent soil erosion, provide valuable habitat, sequester carbon, and add beauty to your landscape. Enjoy!
A full, nonrefundable payment must accompany your order. Orders close when supplies run out. You will receive a confirmation receipt and directions to the pickup site compliant with COVID safety guidelines, Sleepy Hollow Bath & Racquet Club, 3516 Sleepy Hollow Rd, Falls Church, VA 22044.
Orders must be picked up on: Friday, April 1st, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., or Saturday, April 2nd, 9 a.m. - noon, otherwise they will be donated to a reforestation project in Fairfax County.
You must purchase your seedlings in advance, no day of sales or extras will be offered.
Please limit your order to three packages so that others may enjoy the seedling sale as well. Remember, each package includes 6 seedlings, each of which needs to get in the ground soon after pickup.

2 False Indigobush (Amorpha fruticosa)

A 6-10' tall loose and airy shrub for full to part sun conditions in moist soils. The shrub forms purple flowers on 3-6 inch spikes, April-June. A deciduous plant that often forms dense thickets. Can tolerate wet soils; performs well at stream and pond edges and open woods. Special value to native bees. Host and nectar source for many butterflies.

2 Silky Willow (Salix sericea)

A 12' tall shrub for full sun to full shade conditions in wet to moist soils. Fast growing, multi-stemmed shrub with soft, silky catkins in May. High wildlife value for songbirds, small mammals, and beneficial insects. Lance-like leaves are silky below and turn yellow in fall. Performs well in wet areas. Highly valuable to native bees and other pollinators.

2 Eastern Redbud (Cercis candensis)

This beautiful tree stretches to 20-30’ in height. The eastern redbud grows in full sun to full shade paired with moist soils. The spring weather ushers in delicate pink and lavender flowers which are sure to delight. Redbud changes colors in the fall yet maintains its beauty by transforming into a golden yellow. Butterflies, small mammals, and songbirds benefit from the tree, which also fixes nitrogen in the soil.
